Safety Guidelines For Working in A Factory

Warehouse operatives and anyone connected with working in a warehouse needs to be aware of potential dangers both the obvious and the not so obvious.

Pallet racking systems - These need to be installed correctly and also need to have been subject to frequent rack safety inspections.

Similar to an office - Make sure that aisles are clear and not obstructed with pallets or boxes is essential in a warehouse.

Machinery - Only drive machinery you are licenced to operate. Make sure that under no circumstances do you operate a vehicle because it is easier to get across the office floor with. One wrong pedal or button can send a vehicle out of control, with the potential to destroy stock, the warehouse and of course people.

Wear the appropriate clothing - This is critical in a warehouse especially if handling chemicals. Protective boots, clothing and gloves are standard for this. Hard hats are also worn by employees and visitors to make sure you are protected from potential falling objects.

These are just some of the potential hazards within the factory or warehouse environment that has the potential to cause injury or may result in someone needing to make a personal injury claim.
